As I reflect on my forty-four years on this Earth walk, I see a journey of the illumination of my soul in each of its developmental stages.  Would I call it enlightenment?  Perhaps in a definition such as ” gaining of new insight and awareness”, not necessarily the state of nirvana that Buddah reached (although I feel like I’ve had a few moments in my life that I would categorize as nirvanaish).

In my soul’s infancy stage, I remember allowing God’s shining wisdom to pour into me uninhibited.  I can recall many times in my childhood in which Jesus and I conversed like old friends face to face.  At the age of four, I remember climbing onto a huge mound of dirt in our neighborhood and sensing the presence of native people, especially women, who had long since passed.  I wasn’t living in darkness at that point, I was dancing in lightness and accepting Gods gift of illumination without hesitation, judgment, or apprehension.

Then the time I choose to call “the great shadow” covered my life as I approached adolescence.  I became more contracted and hidden from myself.  My confidence wavered and God’s illumination was blocked by my lack of trust and my choice to see the world as oppositional.  However, even in this dark time, there was, in the recesses of my mind, a desire to understand my soul and to seek its evolutionary journey.

Following the “great shadow stage”, the void, I once again emerged from my tunnel of solitude and began seeking illumination…actually frantically chasing it like I was afraid if I didn’t find it, I would be forever in the darkness.  What’s funny about chasing insight and enlightenment is that, in my opinion, there is no need to chase it because it doesn’t run away.  It is always there.  For a soul to elevate to another level, it just has to unfold and pull back the curtain of faith.  It could be likened to the first strike of a match that lights a candle when the power has gone out.  The glow is there, even if it’s faint.  God’s love and wisdom shines whether you choose to see it faintly or brightly.

Currently, I savor the “midday sun stage” of my illumination and ascension of my soul.  I am more content to await God’s direction and am comfortable in the knowing that I am worthy of being illuminated.  I am now willing to listen to the radiating rays of enlightening wisdom that I am gifted.  I see myself as a pulsating orb of energy that is connected to all others.  I can’t deny our universal oneness.  I now understand that my flames of inspiration aren’t just for the betterment and consciousness of my own soul, but the betterment and consciousness of all.

When I enter the next stage of illumination, I’m sure I’ll be in awe of its potential.  Sri Chinmoy has a wonderful line from his poem The Stories of His Lives:

With God’s Face In His Heart,

and God’s Heart in his eyes.

To me, this is what ultimate illumination is……to be one with God.

Take a moment today and reflect on your own journey of illumination.  No matter what stage you are in, God is right there ready to bring light into your world.  Be open.  Be patient.  Be loving.  Be willing to be one with God.

I bet you’re all wondering if I have lost my mind.  In what way can spirituality and a handmade felt purse go together?  In my opinion, spirituality is much like a beautiful handmade felt purse.  First, spirituality is carefully and meticulously crafted by people to fit their personal needs much like a handmade purse is created thoughtfully and attentively in order to hold personal items.  Secondly, people’s spirituality is often a private experience held closely with the Creator.   A purse is rarely opened for all to see and is confidentially guarded.

You didn’t think I could make the comparisons, did you?  Well, I still have more to share.

Thirdly, spirituality and a handmade purse are connected because each is unique.  Whether you are praying, meditating, attending church,  or participating in a sweat lodge, no one’s path to God is the same.  It is a unique experience.  When a felt purse is made, it has it’s unique qualities as well…maybe a tassel here or a zipper there, maybe a nub of yarn protruding on the side or a color variation in the design.  Finally, a spiritual journey is a container for the essentials of soul and spirit.  It holds hopes, dreams, desires, and faith.  A handmade felt purse is a container for the essentials of being a women.  It holds….well you get the idea.

Next time you see a handmade felt purse ,remember it’s connection to spirituality.  To what ordinary object can you compare your spiritual path?  Maybe a favorite tin box or a fishing pole.  Who knows?  I’m sure the ideas are endless!

The Law of Attraction is suggesting the very same thing. No matter what it is that you think about, positive or negative, you are creating those thoughts into an experience in your life. So, pay attention to where you are spending your time. What are you consistently thinking about? How are you consistently feeling while you are thinking these thoughts?
Did you know that you are emitting a vibration while you are thinking and feeling these thoughts? So what are they? If you are in a state of negative emotion and negative thought patterns, you are negatively creating the experience of your life.
If you are predominantly oriented in thinking about life in a positive direction, you are creating positive experiences for your life. If you take the time to see what it is your life has been, many of us will see that we are a mixed bag of the two, so our experiences are mixed
Therefore, if you don’t like what you’ve created, take responsibility for your life. Take responsibility for your thoughts. Take responsibility for your feelings….and turn them around! Become the deliberate creator of your own life! When you come to the realization that you get everything that you get because you have “asked” for it “vibrationally”, you become the powerful creator of your own life experience now.

Walt Disney was a master at finding inspiration and using it as a catalyst for manifesting his dreams.  We can do the same.  Use inspiration in any form that it comes in because we are constantly gifted with revelations throughout our day.  When someone says a phrase or idea that makes you stop and ponder, that’s an inspiration.  Follow that phrase and see where it leads you.  If you see a road sign and it catches your attention, that’s an illumination.  Write it down and journal about it.  When you are in a dream state and the dream stays with you even after you’ve awoken. count that as an inspirational gift.  Create a visual journal to represent the dream.

Besides looking for inspiration yourself, encourage others to envision and dream.  If a friend’s birthday is coming up, give her a beautiful journal as an inspirational gift.  Maybe you have a wedding around the corner, how about gifting the bride and groom with inspirational gifts to decorate their new home.  In my experience, inspirational gifts are gifts others remember for a long time.  Be remembered for your thoughtfulness.

Todays Seeds of Intentions Blog is about Les Brown Quotes, “Accept responsibility for your life. Know that it is you who will get you where you want to go, no one else.”

I have come into the experience of knowing this to be true. I also realize that there are steps between doubt and knowing the truth about this and anything.

Here are my feelings about the steps to knowing…..
• first there is fear about being responsible for your life,
• then there is doubt that you can be responsible,
• next there is hope that you are responsible for your life,
• then trust comes about,
• now there is belief that this is so,
• finally you come into knowing that you are responsible for your own life. This is where true freedom exists, and you realize you are the creator of your own life experiences and can now do something about it.
Each step is vibrationally different and is an experience unto itself. Allow yourself to be where you are on any subject. My feeling is, “what’s the hurry”? We are here throughout eternity. Enjoy the process. Enjoy the contrast as contrast is the spice of life. Each step is simply the “launching point” to the next level of knowing.

You can “feel” your way into the knowingness and the acceptance that you are responsible for your own life experiences. You are the sole (soul) creator of your own life.

I can remember as a little girl at my grandmother’s house how much I loved to go into her bedroom and open her jewelry box. So many beautiful, sparkly gems staring back at me. I was in heaven. All of us have within us the ability to find our inner peace keeper.  Regardless where our emotions are located, we can journey inward toward our soul that is eternally at peace.  Mokey, my kitty, found her inner peace keeper on a warm spring day while I was doing yard work.  She sat in her private stillness for at least ten minutes.  She was in the peace zone and nothing, not even my camera, could disturb her serenity.

You don’t have to look outside of yourself to be at peace.  When you’re in prayer or meditation, imagine you facing yourself.  Look at your heart and see it expand.  Peace resides there.

Sometimes I wear the peace sign as a reminder to find a moment in my day to be like Mokey, like Jesus, like Buddah, like Mother Theresa, like many others….peace keepers.

We received a call today from someone wanting to share her intention and prayer for Eric.  So, we are more than happy to post it here.

The caller’s prayer is that Eric will remain working at his job.

We, at Seeds of Intentions, understand the power of the Law of Attraction ,and therefore would also like to say a prayer for Eric and the woman that called today.  We know that focusing on what you do want is what brings about positive manifestation.  We also realize that there are many people out there concerned about economic stability.

So…our prayer is that Eric and the caller experience financial stability and well being.  May their thoughts be focused on appreciation for the job they have, appreciation for the skills and expertise that they bring to the job, and appreciation for one another.

What we focus on expands?  Focus on what makes you feel good.
